Achimed Achilles tendon support
- Comfort knit with stretch and relief zone
- Two-part 3D silicone metatarsal pad for gentle massage
- Separate heel wedges for tendon relief
Description
The Achimed® Achilles tendon support consists of an innovative comfort knitted fabric, which adapts to fit to the body, a soft instep area and supple borders.
The integrated 3D silicone pad exerts a pleasant massage effect on the surrounding tissues. The bandage also helps dissipate swelling (oedema, haematomas) and can thus relieve pain. Wedges to raise the heels are also included, which can bring relief for an acute inflammation of the Achilles tendon.
The Achimed® soft support has a breathable zone on the sole. The resulting improved moisture regulation provides a pleasant wearing feeling. The included parachute silk donning aid enables the user to put on the Achilles tendon bandage more easily.
An additional benefit of the support is the Comfort Zone: the soft, sheer and elastic material moulds itself to the shape of the user's foot, particularly over the sensitive joint areas. Thanks to the intelligent knitting technique at the ends of the support (medi Soft Edge), it does not cut into the skin. At the same time, a stabilisation and relief of the joint is elicited via the compressive knitted fabric (CCL II) of the Achimed® support. In addition, it can improve proprioception.
The Clima Comfort* technology wicks moisture quickly away from the surface of the skin – making the Achilles tendon bandage feel pleasantly dry and comfortable to wear. The special hybrid fabric created from high-tech-fibre and natural eucalyptus fibre ensures a high level of breathability and is soft on the skin. The integrated Clima Fresh inhibits odour-forming bacteria. Therefore, Achimed® is just as suitable for use in everyday life as it is during increased physical activity.
Intended purpose:
Achimed is a bandage for compression of the Achilles tendon.
* Scientifically tested by the French Institut IFTH. The test result shows that Clima Comfort technology from medi guarantees climate exchange between the skin and the garment. medi achieved an outstanding total score with 11 out of 12 points.

Properties
medi World of Compression: signpost to the future with 65 years' competence in the field of compression. The products in the medi World of Compression are marked first and foremost by their versatility, their numerous possible combinations, their first-class finishing and that special wearing feeling – for the ‘I feel better’ moment.
Clima Fresh: The integrated Clima Fresh function has an odour-inhibiting effect. This is achieved via special thread technology or via special processing during the production process.
Soft zones in the sensitive flexor areas ensure that the support does not press on or cut into the skin, even when worn all day long.
The elaborately worked knit ensures a balanced microclimate of the skin. Moisture is transported reliably and quickly from the inner surface to evaporate from the outer surface. At the same time, the material’s active breathing structure guarantees the necessary oxygen supply.
All compression garments and compression pantyhose (round knit and flat knit), anti-embolism stockings and supports are regularly tested to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 for human ecological harmful substances and assessed. The awarding of the certificate OEKO-TEX Standard 100 guarantees tested quality that safeguards your health.
Washing Instructions
Indications
All indications in which soft tissue compression with local pressure pad(s) on the Achilles tendon is necessary, such as:
- Acute and chronic inflammation of the Achilles tendon
- Achillodynia
- Achillobursitis
Contra Indications
No side-effect is known which influences the whole body. However, if supports (or similar aids) are too tight, local pressure effects or constriction of blood vessels or nerves may occur in individuals. For this reason, under the following conditions and before applying the support, you should discuss this with your doctor:
- Diseases or injuries of the skin in the area of use, especially with inflammatory symptoms (excessive warming, swelling or reddening)
- Sensitivity and perfusion disorders of the legs or feet (e.g. in the case of diabetes)
- Lymph outflow disorders, as well as unclear swellings of soft tissues, apart from the area of use
Any combination with other products (e.g. compression stockings) must be discussed in advance with the responsible doctor.
