Patient-specific osteoarthritis therapy with medi OA knee braces

The new medi osteoarthritis range

Knee braces can be an effective alternative to joint replacement operations and painkillers.

medi UK offers three knee braces for treating osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee for each stage of a patient's OA journey and therapy.

  • medi Soft OA light
  • medi Soft OA
  • m.4s OA comfort

OA knee braces for all stages of the disease

OA knee braces are used in conservative as well as in pre- and postoperative therapy. They are designed to relieve the pressure off the affected compartment which reduces pain and increases mobility.

medi Soft OA light and medi Soft OA

Knee osteoarthritis is wear and tear of the cartilage that cushions the ends of the bones in the knee joint. Over time, the cartilage gradually deteriorates and causes the joints to become painful and stiff. The knees often become mal-aligned which can cause a valgus or varus deformity.

Both the medi Soft OA light and medi Soft OA knee braces work by re-aligning the knee by using a 3-point relief principle which is designed to relieve the knee joint and protects the leg from migrating sideways. The simple step-in and wrap design makes putting on and adjusting the brace very straightforward. The medi Soft OA light and medi Soft OA are made from medi Airtex+ material which features memory foam for added comfort and medi Smart Temp for adaptive thermo-regulation.

Greater stability and mobility in everyday life with the M.4®s OA comfort

M.4®s OA comfort

The new M.4s OA comfort braces relieves and stabilises the knee joint. The lightweight, rigid frame construction, along with the 4-point stabilisation design, gives the patient added security and stability. The 3-point relief principle relieves the knee joint and protects the leg from migrating sideways. In addition, the varus and valgus adjustment hinges minimise pressure on painful areas, allowing the patient to move with less pain.

How the 3-point relief principle works

The brace keeps the leg in the correct axis and prevents breaking-away into a detrimental varus or valgus misalignment (bow-legged or knock-kneed).
