Are those patches of red skin that develop (particularly where the topband sits) allergic reactions?
As a general rule, the redness that develops in the region of the topband (silicone topband) is not an allergic reaction, but rather an irritation of the skin caused by physical forces.
For example, the formation of these so-called tension blisters tends to occur with moist skin. This is why the irritation occurs more often in summer than in the colder seasons.
